Hi Ed. Thanks for the interest.
The Motu Micro express can re-channelize on input and output. I am broadcasting from my ewi on channel 1 (EWI MDI out to Motu MIDI IN1). My Motu micro express (the parallel port model) has 6 MIDI Outs - you can re-channelize the input data and route it to every output on different midi channel. In my case the FS!R is receiving channel 1, VL70m - ch.2, XV-2020 - ch.3, Matrix 1000 - ch.4, SE-70 - ch.5. I have also a DMC Ground Control Midi foot controller (not pictured). It can send data on different MIDI channels so I have full control and access to any sound of any of my synths and my effects processor on the fly. the MIDI out of the ground control go to the MIDI IN 2 of the Motu and you can program the motu to merge the two inputs (the foot controller and the wind controller). I use the Clockworks software that came with the Micro express to do the routing.
BTW, it is known that some of the Motu USB versions can not re-channelize!!!
Hope that helps and excuse my english :)
If you need some more info or if what I wrote is not very clear please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,
Bobby

I am interested in your setup. Could you explain in detail the connections to your rack. How is the MOTU Micro Express used with this setup? I have the Mixer that you have and the following, 2 VL-70m, Oberheim Matrix 1000, Roland JV 1010, Alesis Micro synth, that I want to reconfigure my 6 space rack. Comments from you would be appreciated. Thanks Ed
